Im a Jack Dempsey/EBJD/Platinum Jack Dempsey breeder..... that is definitely a Female! Gill plate has the blue color.
 
I had a female before that looked similar, those gill plates look blue/blotchy. My male in my avatar pic is 5 inches, big color difference
 
Cool im hoping to get blue gene fry and then have fun breeding those...thanks for the reassurance that she is female...hollywood how do I get platinum jds??

1. Start with 2 males 2 females
2. Condition your adult fish. Feed live, high protien and keep up on water changes and water quality.
3. Look for signs of female turning dark and ensure that it has paired off before taking out the other pair.
4. Add floating plants to act as cover from the light. Plus it helps eat up nitrates.
5. Add slate or pots.

Heres a very good read on breeding EBJD. I purchased my first pair from ORMED.
Same principles apply to breeding Platinums.
