Help sexing 3 inch Salvini

Yep female. You can also tell by the spot on the gill plate. Depending on her mood it will either be very noticeable or hardly at all.
Very good one too. Mine is about 7" with similar colors. She will be a stunner.

The operculum spots, while indicative are not concrete either way. They fluctuate a lot, and I've had one sal in particular that defiantly displays a deep black spot on one side, and literally nothing on the opposite side.

what's the catch location of this salvini? (and who did you get it from?)

I'm also switching my thoughts to femal. My male had a very pointed fin but only coloured up like that around 4.5" according to the current keeper of the fish
Thanks for the responses. She does have very pronounced colouring and it has definitely got better over the last couple of weeks.
I brought her from a little lfs over here in England so i am not to sure on her catch location.
What i do find unusual is that she was in a tank of about 20 one inch salvinis (clearly all from the same batch) but there were about 3 or 4 that stood out to me due to their size being some what larger, so i was almost convinced she was going to be a male!
