No worries, but from experience I can tell you that you will generally end up with a split in opinion in these types of discussions. :)

Head profile of your fish reads female, as does the fin shape, and overall body shape. From the vent shots you posted your carpintis certainly appears female to me. But yours is a very young fish, as young fish gain size they tend to get a lot easier to sex. (sometimes lol)

A similar sized young male Escondido of mine when he was 3 - 3 1/2".

Do you have any young males for sale by chance do you sell ??

These little tyrants should be ready to ship when the weather breaks. By then may be able to pick out a male. I have green Texas in the title since that seems to be the big search term for them.

I agree with RD and the others, it appears to be female.
The slope of the profile looks female at this point.
Here is a young female H carpintus

another shot of a female in breeding color

Compare the profiles to a male in normal color.

Now a male inbreeding dress

Even when 1" juvies, it is fairly obvious who the males are.

Below another closer male profile

Yes I was really hoping for a male I picked the biggest most colorful in the tank I showed the breeder the venting pictures he said that’s a male don’t listen to people online but even if it’s a female she’s already showing beautiful colors her mom was 10” with a Nuchal hump dad was 14” so pretty large bloodlines
