HELP SH died not sure why???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
oh and the SH in the 60G is a striata about 14inches

i knew a guy once who had a micro that got parts eaten by ants and still survived.

there are lot of ways to care for them but it really depends on the fish

Just wondered if your other snakehead is fine it could be bulling. All it takes is a nip from the other fish and dart down the end of a small tank knocks it self out and drowns. It’s a long shot but I have had a snakehead drown through being electrocuted by an electric catfish. The reason I am saying this if it was a water problem your other snakehead should be showing problems and as stated they can tolerate relative bad water and temperature changes. reds change with age my one lived with a jag for ages then one day decided to kill it no warning and from that day on he was murder.

this is pretty old thread. Anyways kimchiman i've never heard that you can't do more than a 20% water change for sh's. I've done 90% water changes in some of my snakehead tanks and they're fine.

it really depends on the snakehead. they can live in bad water conditions but they PH change is deadly.

thats why i said 20% water change so there's less chance of the snakehead dying from change in PH balance.

some guy in korea told me that. (our water is so bad that there are no fish in the lake. they have man made POOL/PONDS that u pay money to go in and fish. These places breed their own fish. they breed SH also in a tank which he wouldn't show me. this place was 10 min walk away from the college i was playing bball at.)

this is from word of mouth, im not sure if its true or not but i believe the guy since i've never heard or seen someone who bred SH successfully except him
