help, sick compressicepps!

Hi all,
I have three one inch baby yellow compressicepps, and the nicest one is not doing well. right now it's hanging out on a rock, mouth wide open and gasping for breath. it has been behaving like this a couple days, only until now it was still swimming around and eating. there is no visible fungus, no signs of him getting beaten up by the other fish, no visible damage to him at all. any advice or suggestions? it is a beautiful fish i would hate to lose . thanks everyone
 
Yeah, what is the temp of the tank.
 
temp of the tank is about 78 degrees...it's only a 55 gallon and i use an emperor 400 and also an aquaclear powerhead with quickfilter. ph and hardness are both good. i thought of temperature too, but the thing is all the other fish are acting normal, and the afflicted one isn't spazzing out the way i hear they will if the water is too hot. also thought of oxygenation problem, but if that were the case wouldn't he be gasping at the surface?
 
He may have some gill flukes, try adding some prazipro to the tank.
 
just try em, they wont really hurt the fish, tangs live at high salt levels so they are easily adapted and melafix is soft on fish
 
so, i've been checking him out closely to day, and it seems as though the problem isn't disease of some sort, but rather that he is for some reason or another unable to close his mouth. he tries to eat but the food just goes in and out as he is unable to close his mouth over it. Is there anything I can do? It would be awful for him to just starve to death. any suggestions?
 
Sounds like he might have broke his jaw in a fight with another cichlid, if that is the case, I'm not sure there is much you can do.
