Like the title says my jags have bred and are now sick on hatcing day, as the eggs hatch the parenst just sits on the bottom of the tank lifeless and is covered with a white cloud on the face and fins and it appears that the fins are rotting so i need help bad guys. I was wondering what kind of medication would be best for this kind of situation and if i do use the med will it kill the frys.
Thanks for any help

a waterchange, some salt, and 82*. I'm not big on medications and haven't fought a lot of diseases though so I'm sure somebody else can help you better. Try searching google for "tail rot" and also post your water paramaters.

you could use Aquari-sol, thats what i use for my scaleless/sensitive fish, it treats everything and it doesnt have that chemical that causes cancer in it.

you need to get a kit to test your water. How often are you doing waterchanges?

i do a 50% weekly water change, with in the 3 1/2 month period that i had my male jag he grew 4 inches with the weekly water change. They were fine till last week when i changed from gravel to sand and i think thats where i meesed up and made the fishes sick.
My female died also about 30 mins ago the frys are all alone in the 60gal i hope they'll make it.

sorry to hear about it, how did you do the change?? i done a gravel to sand change on my jag tank and they were fine.

oh man am so sorry to hear that.. did u wash the new sand properly??
yea i washed it for wel over an hour.
Mbuna i changed it while i was oing a weekly water change. I think the jags died because they digged a lot to try to build a nest and the sand got stuck on to their slime coat which led to this.
