HELP! Silver Aro gone Mad!

Judging from the look of the fins from the other silver aro I would say there has been some fighting going on. Could be that it is just time for more space.

I agree. Greens can be very aggro. Fighting often happens after lights out and that's probably why you're hearing the thrashing at night.
 
What others have said. Big fish need big space. There are some territory issues going on there. If he's getting picked on he's going to looking for a way out, IMO.
 
nice looking aros. but the behavior is strange though not unheard of. if you did not have motoros i would have added a current at the bottom of the aquarium
 
As said above, that tank is too small, you'll probably find both the silvers are males and the stressed one is probably being picked on of a night time. get a big tank
 
Thanks for the advice guys but unfortunately the aro died last night. He just turned over and slowly died. Space will always be an issue when you have monster fish and I was planning on setting up a pond later this summer. But like I said the three aros got on great for over a year together and the minor bullying from the green has never been a problem and usually only during feeding.
This will only make me push ahead my plans for the pond, just don't know if I will do indoor or outdoor.
