Hey guys,

So a buddy of mine has some baby snakeheads and adults. Problem is he isn't entirely sure of what they are. They were sold to him as Stewartii/Rainbow which is actually not the same thing. I do think these guy are rainbow snakeheads and not in fact stewartii bu i could be wrong, any experts here can help out?
First two pics are the adults, the third pic is the babies.

Thanks in advance for the help :D

Adult pics are very misleading.

Babies are Bleheri ( rainbow ) allthough they could be Andrao ( formerly known as blue bleheri or sp assam )

Is it possible the adult pics are not his?

Thanks for confirming

Pix of adults are very bad.

I would say Andrao based only on the top one...

The adults and juveniles are both Channa Gachuas. The adults do look very similar to C. Andrao, but they have pelvic fins, where C. Andrao has none.

You're welcome.
I've heard that they are illegal in Quebec now. I'm not sure if it's just an import ban, or if they're illegal to keep as well. I'd look into it before making a purchase.

Ya its really weird the law. I think its import at the moment. Iv seen a lot of sellers advertise selling diff snakehead species. But who knows Quebec is a lil loosey goosey when it comes to animals. Besides they can barely justify the ban on them, legit 99% would die by winter.
