I don't know if I can post this here or not, my baby black ghost knife Spirit has lost most of his tail and I have no idea how it happened,he still had his whole tail when I gave him his breakfast this morning. Also because he's scaleless I don't know what to do for treatment, can anybody please help me to help poor Spirit? He is not showing any signs of illness or distress,he still has a normal appetite and is just as spunky as ever. I have never seen any of the other fish act aggressive towards him,but I don't know if maybe one of them did hurt him and I just didnt see it happen.

Okay so I can help here :)
My ghost knife got a huge portion of his tail chomped off and a lot of the skin stripped off. I hand fed him bloodworms, made sure the tank was clean, removed all other fish, increased the temperature and treated him with aquarium salt. It kept infection down enough for him to heal with no ill effects. Part of his tail even grew back!

I kept the temperature at about 83 and added pretty much as much salt as was safe, sometimes bathing the wound in it. I also gave him a quick dip in a fishy antimicrobial before starting the other treatment.
