Help!!!, stingray infection

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
saganeer,

I am not sure what it is. Here is my advice.....

1. Bump the temperature up to 86 degrees
2. Remove all other tankmates
3. Do a 30% water change every day until the condition disappears.
4. Offer them lots of live food (blackworms, ghost shrimp, crayfish, earthworms, etc.)

Good luck,

Colin

heaters are in the wet/dry filter, yesterday i did a 30% water change, added salt (diluted) 15mg/10gal, is it ok?, here in mexico is kind of hard finding ghost shrimp and blackworms, i have earthworms in a bucket for this cases, they are still eating, i fed them this morning frozen bloodworms with no problems.

I had a similar problem with my hystrix.. My "fish doctor" recomended a ray-safe antibiotic every other day and 30% water change. He also said that krill would be the best food , because it's so nutritious, and he told to add a handfull of coral to the filters.. It took about 2 weeks, but my ray made it...
Hope you 'll find a cure.

Sorry for your loss. I never had a problem w/ salts though. I used the salt when i had an ich infection in my tank and the ray loved it. She would play around the salt while it's being dissolved.

you´re right about the water here in Mexico DavidW , but that problem often appears in northern states like chihuaha, or baja california, here in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon never had that problem, i think i´ll stick to the salt solution as a treatment and i´ll keep you informed, thanks to all of you
