Help Stingrays Came in with red bellys

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would have pulled out all the water leaving just enough to cover the rays and added water from the tank. Like fishdog said once you opened the bag the ammonia would have went off the charts. Personally I don't ever drip.

all these bad experiences when u could have just got a few pups from me :screwy: j/k

i tried to tell my wife that if i go with good rays to start it may cost more to start, but in the end it will be worth it...she didn't like that so i got what wouldn't piss her off...well over $500-800 later in loses she now sees that you get what you pay for...

i will get pups from you like i said before when you had that stingerless male...i just want to have everything ready... i am looking into an expanded collection including motoros, henli, hystrix and i hope to get some leos and bds aswell...i just need to get my pond/tank built as i might have a line on a good enough job to pay for all of the wants i have...

I hate this part of the Ray culture, too many die.

Captive Bred, Captive Bred, Captive Bred or reputable dealer all the way....keep them expensive.

I would have also phoned the dealer the minute they arrived and announced my concern along with ammonia readings straight away.

Pick them up from the dealer or have them delivered or do not buy them, sorry to be harsh but these are special living creatures and we owe them more.

Nobody should be shipping rays when it's this hot out, your supplier had to know the rays weren't going to arrive in good shape.

What a waste - and I mean the lives of the rays, not the money.

Also wonder if you were even getting Hystrix anyway. Somehow I'd be surprised.

DING DING DING...WE HAVE A WINNER :)
100 degrees, limited water = no oxygen in the water=cooked to death.

I only try the easy questions.

And BTW, thank you for planting a subconscious stingray seed in my mind a few years ago :)

Thanks eveyone the wholesaler refunded the money but it was a real wayste though. All the lives lost. Life sucks when your a stingray unless you are the one in a million that ends up in a proper aquarium.
