Help/suggestions on getting NTT to eat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You can also give freeze dried krill a try though it may take a bit of time before the dat goes up to the surface to eat one of them.
I've found that freeze dried shrimp worked for me the best. I bought/rescued an emaciated NTT about 3 weeks ago from a pet shop that was only feeding it live and to my surprise it's pounding those freeze dried shrimp.

That's the easy part... but how do we make the switch from shrimp to pellets?

They’ll ignore till death. You need to have fish they can learn from to eat pellets. NTTs are hard to train.
My polys and flagtail have been wolfing down the pellets in front of it for the past few months though.. any way I can get it to eat?

No, it normally does not follow my movements. It is actually afraid of any sort of movement outside of the tank
Damn that sucks. You need him to follow you to get better results. Feed him something he’ll eat and get use to you feeding him. Then when you got him waiting for food you try what you want to feed it and go back and fourth until he switches.

Had no idea it was so tough to convert NTTs to pellets / get them to be more outgoing :(
