So iv conme home to a pleasant surprise still fighting but no where near as much as yesterday. Im still going to get some more hidy hole and plants. Now i know its a **** picture byt if you look closely you can kinda see what i mean.
Slight update the fighting has basically come to a stop my pleco and synodontis can both sit next to each other under the driftwood for 5 minutes to an hour without fighting most of the time but the fighting is limited to the driftwood now 99% of the the the fight and its now the pleco starting the fight. Am i missing something as by the looks of it my pleco the smaller of the 2 is the dominant fish? Im now confused at this point
I had one of those synodontis in a 300 lt tank and once it got to about 5 inches it would any other fish in the tank I had a large firemouth cichlid and they fought constantly I sold the synodontis in the end. As like others have said they need a large tank .
Just been offered a 200L for my 55L and some cash thinking of just putting the synodontis in there on his own but ill see how they take to more spot to hide first as i would like to keep them in the same tank there was no issues
people say that plecs arent really aggressive but my big 13" common was beating up my oscars he was not eating slime coat he was darting and raming them then swimming away i added leaf litter rocks and wood and it has stoped
