Help ! Synodontis Eating Another Synodontis

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You would be surprised how well a small fish can hide in a large tank. I have had a fire eel for about a month now. Just under 3 inches. He wouldn't be visible in my 120 for a while and we thought he had been eaten. When I did a water change he reapeared. Only when he was swimming around during the water change DID something try and eat him. Another larger fish snatched at him and had his back half in his mouth. I quickly scared the larger fish and he spat him out. Needless to say, the baby fire eel is in my 40 gallon now till he gets bigger. Now I can always find him and he can get to food better without the bigger guys getting it first

Gotta be careful with fish that are varying in size being in the same tank.

I would not house him with that bigger angelicus for both the fish sake. Angelicas can be very expensive espicially at a larger size. Very sweet syno too.

Alright well just worries me because when I first put him in the angelicus grabbed him then let him go. They seem
To be fine now both are swimming together

extrange canibalism. :/ ,
the size really its important :naughty:
