help tank not cycling

He called it a green color. Probably indicating an algae bloom, which carbon won't do too much to help if it is exhausted. Carbon isn't meant to be the primary means of bio-filtration in most cases, and shouldn't be.

Oops, I missed the green color. I just know lots of people have nitrofer blooms when the tanks is cycling. I did, for 3 weeks.
 
Yeah it is common to have ammonia clouds, but after the cycling is complete, it is also common to see an algae bloom.

tank finally cycled but bad news albino oscar died this afternoon rip
kids upset and want to replace it but i think we should go with smaller chiclid
may be firemouth of convict any other suggestions
 
Sorry to hear about the O, but good to hear the cycling is over with

Firemouth, Texas, Severum, Geos, or something along those lines would be fine.
