Has it not eaten or you've never seen it eat? You can ask the guy you bought it from for advice...I'm sure he'll have some BS to tell you.
He told me that I killed a tig because my water was 80 degrees and they need colder water. Everyone else tell me 80 is fine.

If you got to feed feeders then feed feeders fatten it up and try again.

Ya better watch it! The Cali-crew wil cut you up for them comments

Cali-Crew(kinda like that) :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Hopefully you can get this guy eating soon. Have you tested your water parameters? . Ive had problems trying to keep Tigs alive myself. Just do what everone else has told you to do and hopefully it will eat for you soon. (except for the force feeding).

my 22" and the other 20" that Rich bought in from Infinite Aquatics ate within the first few days...and we took them straight form the bag...:)

my water is 85-87 so i'm not sure if temp has anything to do with it...

not sure about some of these other venders but when Rich sells a fish, it is in top quality...

my 22" tig is now with Johnptc in his 10k gal tank and it is even bigger feeding on prepared food or pellets...he doesnt feed live...:)

I would question the vender or person...not everyone is as honest as we hope...but the only vender that knows his stuff and sell good fish at a reasonable price is infinite aquatics...

i know he has alot of 8" tigs now and they are all feeding on black worms, live...

and yes he is from cali hahaha...seems like all the east coast crew like to over charge for fish :ROFL:

We like to make money, not friends:D:D

add some power heads tigs and jurs like a stronger current. also try in pitch black. some cats i've had will only eat in the dark absolutely no light. hopefully that will help. good luck

I didn't get it from Rich, I got it from John Raymond at ECZS the fish was healthy when I got it, and still is, it's active and has great color, I keep the tank at about 79-81 degrees, my levels are fine, it just hasn't eaten yet, at least in front of me. I have a powerhead, but I am gonna throw in a whole bunch of feeders one night and see what happens, however, I'm afraid my aro will eat them all before the Tig gets to em, any way to prevent this? Force feeding does not sound like a healthy option, but how do you do it?

Do you have a smaller growout tank that you can put it in. Maybe it will be easier for him to eat.

Not really, I guess I could get a 20 long or something and fill it with his water. Do you think he's not eating cause of the aro?

If food is dropping down to the bottom I don't think it's because of the aro. He just doesn't know it's food yet. I'm surprised that its not eating blackworms stir the gravel up a bit and see if there's an abundance of blackworms in there. If so and your worried about it starving to death just give it what it was eating before you bought it. fatten him up and try starving him again. Hope it works out it a nice fish and I know how long you've been looking for one.

A month does seem long. I would not recommend force feeding him though ^^ surely that can't be good. You might wanna try a separator for your kittie. i always find small fish to start eating more comfortably if they can not swim away from food (i.e. always around it).
