My dad decided to move my 24" tsn to his new tank last night with a net. Fish freaked out got tangled in the net and wound up pulling one side fin almost offand shredded the webbing part.It makes like a half inch cirle around the fin that is torn at his body. The other side is shredded but no wounds on his body. We had to cut the net around his fins to set him free, so there is a little 1 inch square of net still stuck on him on each side. He'll let me touch it, but i don't wanna try to pull it off. I put melafix in the tank right away. What should I do now?

Greetings and hopefully it will grow back, My tsn has been purdy beat up and has grown back everything from a gaping open meart wound on the side to broken fins ...Just add some melafix to fight infection etc..keep us posted!!!
be careful with melafix! Our cats have skin not scales. My RTC almost died because i put the recommended amount in my tank. had to do a immediate water change!
what else is there to use? I used it the way they recommended before with no issues, not to say it couldn't happen.
did some more inspecting. If he's facing you, the barb on his rght side is just hanging and he can't mover it. Will that fall off and grow back or what? The wound isn't pretty, but he seems ok besides being lighter in color and a little blood.
