People did believe that (even me) it was a 27.5-29c fish because if you go to the Cachoeira de Santo Antonio during dry season you will see temps of around 27-30c but there are no tig's there during dry season they move upriver out of the rapids to deeper cooler water during that time (and to breed according to recent studies). The main population moves into the rapids at the end of the dry season and stays until the next one when the temperature rises again. During the bulk of the year when Tig's are present in the rapids the water temp is between 24-26c.
Taksan, thanks for the knowledge shared. I was always thinking that tig is a tropical fish and able to tolerate higher temperature.
Just to update the bros here. Last night I tried to feed it with tetra pellet, it still refused to eat. I then added another half dose of the Copper Safe (previously half dose added). This morning it looks better again in that it doesn't breath as hard and also more responsive. i tried to feed the pellet and it takes!!! That sounds to be a great improvement to me. But I still don't know if it is the heater or the Copper Safe that is effective....
i just changed the water 50% and added some salt. The heater still on. No more copper safe added.
The last question, the root of the tail still looks pink and there are a piece or two of blood vein visible in the pec fin. Do you guys think this has something to do with some sort of disease?
