help to catch canaidian blue catfish

hi everyone. about 2 years ago someone let a canaidian blue catfish go in a large pond that a fishing club use for carp. when it was let go it was just over 6 pound . in the last 2 weeks its bin seen and ther club members plan to catch it and kill it as they think its eating the carp but my plan is to catch it and keep it in my pond. what can i use for bait and what will be the best way to catch it. thanks

. thanks i will look in to that.if it was 6 pound 2 years ago .if feeding well what sort of size do you think it will be now. i know nothing about these catfish

maybe 10-20 pounds depending on its food source

blue catfish grow crazy fast if they have enough food. if anything this catfish is eating smaller carp allowing the big carp to grow bigger with less competion for food.

i went blue catfishing early this year, we used cut shad. But if hes been eating carp try cut carp or bluegill.

If its in a carp pond eating carp why not try a bite sized live carp ?

the thing with liver and earthworms is that theyll catch a small catfish no problem. as the cat matures hes going to want bigger prey. A small carp or bluegill is way more appealing to a larger cat than a hunk of liver.

i would just use carp from the pond

blue cats are not like channels they dont eat just anything, try bait fish dead or alive. Their main food in rivers and lakes in the U.S. is shad.
