Help!!! - Transporting Clawed Frogs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I remember reading somewhere that the large variety have longer more pointed "fingers," while the dwarves have more webbing between them. Thus the name clawed frog for the large ones. So if they are labled right you probably have the large ones.

Edit:
The pictures in Jeox's post does seem to illustrate this.

I read somewhere where they are illegal in parts of California because they breed and eat everything in the ponds.

Actually, I would not go by color- I have both Clawed and Dwarf varieties, and my male Clawed is identical in color to the dwarf. Easiest way to differentiate is to look at the "hands" The clawed frogs (larger species) have NO webbing between the fingers, hence the clawed name. The dwarf frogs will have distinct webbing between the hands. Definitely don't mix the two!

thanks for all the replies guys!

they do have albinos which will be the ones that i will actually get, since like stated before have never seen an albino dwarf.

updates after this weekend!

just got back form the store guys, bought five albinos and only had to pay for one!!! the girl had no idea what she was doing!

anyways...upon further observations, the albinos have no webs on their front hands and they do have black tips! now they just have to make the return trip home! wish me luck!

i plan on putting the albinos into an all black sand tank =0)

WAL-MART...LOL

its actually the ONLY thing to do around here....the town im in has a population of about 900 people!

That sucks, I live in NE but where I live has a population of 200,000.

If they are albinos, then they are definately african clawed frogs. I hope they are going in a species tank because they get about 6 inches long each.
