If there a way I can kill them? Raising the temp? putting salt? any meds?
You'll only be doing more damage to your tank than help.Just minimize feeding, and vacuum everything thoroughly.

okay Lupin, I'm going to step up the water changes on this tank... I saw a few of these worms in my front tank now... I think they are from the live black worms I've been feeding them... Not in my convict tank since I did not give them any live worms.. Might be from the left over worms that sank into the gravel...

Thanks for the feed back, I'll let u know

well if these worms dont harm the fish and eat fish waste tahn wouldnt they be a good thing to have in the tank?
They're fine but they just indicate poor water conditions. Some fish will eat them though. And while we're on this subject, bloodworms are shorter in appearance and bloody red. These prefer to live in mud and are midge larva of nonbiting mosquitoes. Definitely not bloodworms. They will rarely appear into view anyway unlike detritus worms.

they're planara they come when there is excess of waste old food etc.and they feed on it the only thing to really do is heavy water changes to get rid of them

planaria i cant spell

I was going to go with "FAIL x3" but he gets credit for correcting the spelling... so x2.5?

Thanks for clarifying lupe, color suggested bloodworms to me, but there wasn't the segmentation on the body.

I've cleaned the water weekly and fed the same amount of pellets for the past, maybe 5yrs... The only thing i changed recently was adding live blackworms to their diet... there were a few times I put the worms directly into the tank rather then the worm keeper.. As you can imagine, a lot of them made it into my gravel. It's got to be this, I change the water like clock work.. But I will up the WC as recommended...

would you guys recommend doing a 30-40% water change plus take out all decor and clean them out as well? I just noticed the same worms in my sand. I vac once a week and do 20% water changes twice a week.
