Help w/ my new Dat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm thinking he's sick. This morning he was out in the open just sitting at the bottom. last night I seen him scratching. He is still very dark. I've been using quick cure since i've got him 3 days now. I have salt in the water I've turned up the heat. Today I will do a 30% change. I might go get a 10gal so I can put him in that. Keep my other fish healthy.

I really like the way the Dats look and all, but I'm starting to think these suckers are just too delicate.

Oh quick question that freaking quick cure turned one of my rocks blue, will that go away eventually?

Try some beef heart too maybe. That is all my wild Dovii will eat he won't even touch feeders anymore :screwy: The blood in the water drives them crazy I think :)
Tried it last night, everyone but of course the Dat loved it. :swear: :swear:

If you have an extra tank I would seperate him till he get's acclimated.
If you notice him scratching but no sign of white spots he' s flashing which could be a parasite. Get some jungle parasite tabs and treat it. I always quarintine my new fish no matter how good they look when I get them. This way they can start eating without competition from other fish's in the tank. Throw in some guppies or danios.

Just give him time and he'll eat. Mine took a week before he ate. I used shrimp to feed him now.

Thanks guys.
I dont have an extra tank at the momment. I was thinknig of going to get a 10 gal @ walmart, they have one with filter and everything for like 30 bucks. Then set that up real quick and put him in there for a lil while. He seems to be better now, he's out and about. Seems to do better when I have the lights off. I will for sure go get him some feeders today.
