hey guys i was wondering if the following fishes were suitable for a community tank in a 60 gal.

3-4 south american puffers
4 convicts cichlids
couple of tetras
giant danios
soem small sharks?

any other fishes you guys reccomend that are pretty cool to keep?
this is my first comm tank and i want a good experience.
i know some people will frown upon me keeping puffers but i believe these fish will be fine.

south american puffers are less aggressive but still you may have problems with them and the convicts the tetras most likely will get picked on by the Cons and puffers

Also make sure you have plenty of cover so the puffers don't fight as much and make sure all the Cons are one sex they breed very eazily and if you get a breeding pair you will be up to your neck in fry in no time

And by shark you mean like bala shark right what kind of shark did you have in mind theres many types of fish with shark in there names hope your not talking about an actual shark

nope. your con's WILL mess with the puffers

yes thats a possibility but you'd be very supprised what a puffer can do

What sharks? Most of them get quite large as adults. Even my redtail grew to 6". No tetras with the puffers/cichlids. Giant danios might work, since they are fast. Considering a 60g really is't that large & you want 15-20g/puffer, I'd forget about the cons & go with some kribs instead. Don't forget about some cleaners--maybe a school of cories--as puffers are messy eaters. Also, remember SAPs have an issue with overgrown teeth, which means you'll have to catch them & trim their teeth every 4-6 months.

It won't work, the cons will shred the puffers...why not just go with the cons along with the giant danios and maybe a rainbow shark.
