HELP w/ Vittatus Tiger

I have 3 vittatus tiger fish around 4/5 inches small. And I really don't want to feed live fish to them. I've tried cut shrimp and tilapia and even night crawlers, they refuse it??? @

Please, any suggestions anyone???

Try adding a couple of wide bar or silver dollars. Your VATF will learn from them and will eventually eat, monkey see monkey do. Give it some time they'll come around. Good luck.

I used to keep web are silver dollars and I got rid of them because they were too skittish. They look awesome but they were too skittish so I hated it but eventually I had to get rid of them

You've got some picky ones. I've had several atf and theyve all accepted tilapia after a few days even the gatf that I was told only would eat live. Maybe feed live a few days then switch to dead feeders and then tilapia. Always drop food in the same spot and only 1 at a time

I've not have a great problem. Started out at the same size as yours. First they learned to take f/d bloodworms, then cut fish. I had 5. Two resisted the fish longer than 3 others but eventually they took it. Now at about 10" they take anything, even cheap pellets.

Wow even pellets? That's great man. I will just have to stay persistent with the tilapia. How long did it take you to grow them out to that size?

Grew my guy from 2.5".

1. use feeder fishes (clown loaches, tinfoil barbs, etc.)
2a. tie a fishing line to a piece of shrimp and have the shrimp near the outflow/output to have the shrimp dance around or just jerk the fishing line around
2b put pellets in the shrimp

Your VTF look great bro. But not sure I'll be going fishing in my own tank. Lol.

BTW I see you have peacock bass in with the VTF. Wouldn't the p bass out grow the VTF and eventually swallow him whole?
