Help, what are my datnoids doing???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Go ahead, add med. Let us know after the med killed your fish. your clown loach is scaless and more sensitive to med and if you don't know what you're doing with improper dosage you will kill them. Plus if you have carbon it's going to screw with the dosage and if you remove the carbon you are going to kill your bb with med.

No need to panic, ich is easy to treat. Keep the loaches in, it sounds like they're all infected. Do a 50% water change. Raise the temperature to about 85 and add approximately 2 tablespoons of salt for every 5 gallons. Don't add the salt directly to the tank, dissolve it in some tank water first then pour the solution into your tank bit by bit over 24 hours. Follow this by performing 25% water changes daily for a few days to both remove the salt and to help remove the parasite. Good luck.

What is the frequency of scratching?
My dats all "occasionly" scratch themselves or flick, it's normal.

I no they do it sometimes ive had 3 dats for like 8 months but 2 or 3 of the 6 i just got starting doing it yesterday and have been doing it like every minute its crazy i did the water change and added the salt and they seem to be doing better, my indo looks real good heres a pic

If you think you have ich, all the fish in the tank will be infected so i hope you didn't put the clown loaches in with other fish when you separated them. My advice is to read the very good write-up on treating ich in the Health and Diseases section of the forum. It can be hard to get rid of but persist with it because if untreated it can indirectly kill your fish.
