i have no idea what this is, i noticed it this morning when i came into my fish room to feed them.

he is still eating fine, and acting normal (playing in the bubbles and whatnot)
and my water chemistry is just fine, but i am going to be doing a large water anyways

but please let me know what you think this is ......

thats a new one to me, do some water changes, add some salt and see what happens

no idea mate sorry, your gravel looks very corse though is it rounded?

nothing in the tank it could of caught his self on? or other fish maybe pecked at his eye and missed? then the wound flared up?

ide just keep the water perfect, if he is acting normal dont worrie to much just keep an eye on things.

tank mates????

as for things in the tank, there is some drift wood(which i took off all the sharp parts way back when i set the tank up) a few round smooth rocks and some fake plants. the gravel is 2 different kinds mixed and both are rounded and i have never had a problem with it for as long as i have had him.
as for tank mates i have 2 discus and 2 clown loaches.

does he let you touch it? what does it feel like? kinda looks like a fungus to me

nice candid discus pic

hah, im not about to poke my STINGray when he has a sore specially when its close to his eye. not that he is not tame, or anything cause i can hand feed him and pet him, but i know when to not "poke the bear"
