i have a community set up for my main tank , it has a maleJD, a pair of cons , a female severum, 2x BN plecos and a firemouth. the problem is the convict pair laid a batch of eggs and has no taken full control of 1/3 of the tank, the only fish that's getting really hurt by them is my elliot firemouth. i wanted to know what you think looks better for a community tank and what would be more successful in the future. i will add a GT and maybe a veija to the tank in a about 2weeks.

lose the cons and get a GT, con pairs in a community really dont work unless the tank is huge as they are fearless and will claim huge portions of the tank even from much larger/normally more aggressive cichlids as you are finding out the hard way

Community tanks usually work better without spawning pairs. Decide if you want to have breeding tank or a community tank for best results.

heres another option , should i remove the male con only or the female ? i doubt that they are terrors without their mate.
