Yes because I just used channel locks on it to tighten it further

I would exchange it since it's new. If your gonna do silicone put it on the threads then screw the plug in

You might also find some solutions by Googling "Rubbermaid stock tank drain leak". Lots of koi keepers use these tanks and have run into similar issues.

It's the threads holding the bullked in place . Get a new bullked

So I bought a pond liner to put in it but what do I do about the hole or if I put the drain plug back in theres a hollow part in the inside of the drain plug. Will it create a weak spot in the liner like that?
