the constant hum from the pump would actually be soothing for the baby, we have a teddy bear that makes pulsating wumb(LOL) sounds and it is the most annoying gawd awefull sounding thing and put both my kids right to sleep when they were young. hell even me humming would soothe them.

i say keep the old pump and put it under the kids krib, or put the kid in the tank stand, whatever floats your boat.

Top tip, dont be quiet around your sleeping baby otherwise it will be a light sleeper the rest of its life and wake up at the slightest sound.

We used to hoover around our little ones cot, she sleeps like a log now, falls asleep anywhere.

My friends daughter wakes up at the slightest noise, when we went round there the mother would have the TV volume turned off and be whispering, and all the child does is wake up screaming all the time.

As for filtratiopn cant help, I have canisters on my 180.
