Cut out the light algae will die off, cover the tank for at least 48 hours and you should start to see improvements, direct sunlight is a no no if you want to avoid persistent algae blooms. If your going to add UV then make sure it is the last thing before the return as it could harm the good bacteria in your filter and you could end up with more problems.

Hope it works out for you

Thank you for all your help/

Have a great day

if you just put up a thickish background, it will block out the light from the back side of the glass. thats what i did with my 60g. and when i had a 10g planted with a spot algae problem,i learned that spot algae hates phosphate, i couldn't find liquid phosphate to add so i left the tank without waterchange for like 3 weeks (i only had 3 small small fish in there and i kept track of my feeding to make sure it was low). spot algae went away. a friend of mine did the same and his green algae and spot algae went completely away.

UV ster for sure. No it will not remove it from your glass. You need to do that. It will however kill any single cell algae floating around. It really cleared up my 220. I was amazed at how good it worked. 18 Watts at around 150-1170 GPH, 3 juvi pleocs and what a difference!!!.
