Great job you two! Sudden changes in PH is more dangerous and deadly than keeping them in a steady PH environment even if high.
The current strains of domestic Angels have adjusted to being kept in fairly high PH. I've kept and bred them in PH higher than 8.0.
I've kept even my wild caught Altums in tap water which I stabilize with a PH of 7.6 just by airing it out.
