Help with aro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
agree with all the above. just wait a bit, it can take like 2 weeks before he really feels confident enough to eat (with you around). Mine took over 10 days but now hes a piggy. Mine also did eat when i was not around. Try to throw in something that floats and wont get out.

Try and find out what your aro has been eating at its previous home establish then vary diet. get him on krill hikari sticks crickets.

this would be a good idea, but unfortunately most lfs diets suck.

i agree with the crickets.

just give him some time...

i agree with the crickets too just make sure they are small ones.. sometimes when they see the action floating on top of water it stimulates them.. good luck and welcome and let us know..

a 7" aro can go maybe 2 weeks without food. i starved my aro when he was younger for 3 weeks cuz i was trying to get him on pellets. try freeze dried krill and aro stick pellets. aros love that.

and leave the temp alone. if anything push it a lil higher. i keep my tanks at 82-84*. higher temps keep them active and u want him active to get his food

mines did this too, i got um around the same size.. he'll be good, just give it some patience.. the biggest thing i've learned when dealing with aros.. patience..

mine lickes crickets and pellets, i've only had it about 3 weeksand he's about 6". how much do other peoples eat at about that size?
