help with bass

aquafreak do you have a filter on the tub? i have my feeders in a 2.5 gallon tank with sponge filter and air stone and still cant keep them alive in there

I have a small submersible filter with some carbon. No airstone, although it is probably a good idea. Remember to change the water at least weekly, just like your cichla tank. I do 50% water changes in my 150 once per week, and drain 90% of the stock tank while I'm at it. I use salt, pimafix and melafix in my stock tank as well, along with water conditioner at every water change. I think it helps clear the feeders of potential problems.

Maybe the biggest thing is that I don't stock feeders for more than 2 weeks. I only buy stock what I plan on using for a week or two, which is usually about 100-150.

WOW Piranhas huh! My peaccok bass will beat up and eat your little piranha. Anyway, they should come out on their own. Mine was in hiding for a month. Leave them alone and feed them guppies. They are very fragile at that age. Don't worry they will eat. I had the same concerns when I first got mine and I took the advice from the guys here and everything was ok. Just be mellow and take it easy. I know that is hard to do but they will be ok.

thanks aquafreak i try to buy enough for a week but i go every other day because i cant seem to keep them alive. i think that is why i am so frustrated. i dont have time to go to pet store everyother day.

thanks spacewelder i guess i am just used to my hundreds of cichlids that are always out and follow me from one side of the tank to the other plus they will eat anything i give them

i am just going to stick with the guppies for now and see what happens. thanks for all the help and any more tricks would be great seeing how you guys went through all of this already

No sweat bro. I have Africans and PB are way different. Now mine won't leave me alone! They tap on the glass everytime I come in the room. Just keep em warm, feed, and clean and you will be OK. God, their just like kids! Good luck bro and let us know!

Boost... Hey bro i had the same problem and my guys are about the same size. I took out a few of the plants in mine, and i added a few fish (Oscars) that really helped them come out of their shell. I also feed mine guppies and they love them... So i will concure will most of the guys here and tell you to buy feeder guppies 0.12 cents a piece and the pbass will love you for it... If you can maybe add a couple of fish that will grow with the pbass. Hope this helps

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

these are mine with a few picks of the oscars.
