Help with bichir 100g tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So i decided to go with a 65 gallon due to weight issues since it was going in on the second floor but everything is now set up in a few days i should be ready to move the fish over ill be uploading pics later. Ty guys for all the help.

Im actually using 3 medium size cichlids to cycle the tank i was told to do the same back when i got my 30 and it worked out great the cichlids were carefully monitored to make sure they didnt get new tank syndrome back then and i am doing the same now. However since i have been given wrong information before pls let me know if im doing this wrong so far the cichlids are enjoying the new tank and are eating well i am also carefully monitoring the tank to make sure the ph nitrate and nitrite lvls dont get to a point the fish are in danger. Dovii was your not fare comment about me using sand the size of the tank or cycling the new aquarium, if its the size of the tank sry but it was a tough call and trust me the 100g was really really tempting but i have kids and dont really want my floor collapsing on them so my fish will have to settle with being split between 3 tanks, now if its the sand your upset about i picked sand cause i currently have gravel and my fish like to swallow it i lost a parrot fish already and didnt really want to take the chance on loosing more fish also i figured the smooth surface would be better for the bichir that will eventually live there, and if your comment was on not cycling the tank the tank is currently being cycled and does have fish but these are hardy fish that have gone through this process before and are being monitored really closely.
