  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ghost shrimp are much more natural anyway arent they?? Correct me if im wrong guys who own them but arent there natural food crabs, shrimps urchins ect and not fish?? Im sure they would eat a fish if it was infront of them and they where hungry but its probs not the best thing for a few weeks or months old shark to be eating. Especially guppies.

if you have to feed it fish, why not lancelet or silverside or smelt?

but yeah benthic sharks do feed more regularly on crustaceans.

more than likely its too late, but i would try live ghost shrimps as a last effort to save him/her

well, my shark finally ate.... unfortunately, it was feeder fish... i'll update you guys once i try feeding ghost shrimp...

well guys, all good things must come to an end... because my shark just happened to be one of the sharks that didnt want to eat... i guess i'll forget shark keeping and get more experience with normal fish only marine tanks... thanks for the info anyways:D

Sorry about your poor experience in Sharking keeping, you will always experience bad times in any hobby. Maybe one day you will come back and have a more enjoyable experience, becasue Sharks truely are amazing to keep!

Well - it usually hard to get newly hatched shark pups to eat. Most people who are very experienced then to lose at least half of newly hatched sharks.

For this reason - it generally recommended that people new to keeping sharks or rays start with young sharks that have been feeding for several months. These sharks usually adapt to feeding more easily - because they already know how to do it. Plus hatching - is a very stressful process for shark pups.

So don't give up yet - just attempt next time to get one that's a few months old on it already - you'll likely have more success.

For most species of "home aquaria friendly" sharks -i.e. bamboos, eppis, coral cats, or horns - that is about 8-12". These tend be a little more expensive but are worth it.
