  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well thanks for the responses guys, you have all been very helpful. Hopefully this will not happen again :nilly:! I will keep you guys posted on the other one which still seems to be doing really well, Im sure I will manage to brew up many questions in the near future. :stingray::stingray:

i agree about the parasites usually when their is a bunch of red lines like that usually indicate parasites.

Treat with prazi pro regardless. Most of the time tcups have internal parasites. If you treat with prazi pro by following the directions, it's harmless. Don't mess with the filtration. Clean the tank once a week and clean have the bio media every other week with cool water. I've had 6 small rays in a 55 gallon with 2 sponge filters for a few weeks.

do you wash your blackworms?

its not internal parasites.1/10 of these so called teacups or retics always die.dont stress over it man.just dont buy teacups.i know alot of people that tried buying teacups they never survive.its not your tank or you skills its just the way it is.i have picked out the strongest eating teacups and they still die???i think its the way they are conditioned and treated after capture.

Yea I would give them a rinse with room temp or so water.

That seems to be what im reading. It really stinks because these guys are beautifull. The healthy one has almost a blue sheen on his disk, its really stunning how much he has changed. These little guys literally have me hooked though now.

There is always a cause of death. Most of the time, with enough investigation, you can find it. I have rarely seen a wild caught ray NOT have parasites of some kind.

by cleaning your tank, do you mean water changes everyday or like scooping out the poop and a normal water change schedule?

i don't know if it holds any weight, but doing water changes every day, isn't that gonna screw with your tank and stress the heck out of your newly acquired rays? the last thing you wanna do is stress your rays out while they're acclimating to a new environment.

I have received 12x rays, wc, and 9 of them lives and eat as hell, do not show any sign for any paracites.. 4 of them ive had for 9 months now, the rest for 3 months. Maybe ive bin lucky with serious exporters(?)
