Help With Discus Fish.

I would never buy discus from a LFS after knowing what I know now. LFS sells the lowest quality discus possible. Bottom of the barrel, culls of the culls. Check out Kenny Discus. You can get superior quality discus for about the same price you'd pay at a LFS. And I would get fish that are semi-adult to adult sized, as a beginner.

only the pair of discus you want to breed should be in the tank. dont introduce any other discus or else they wont breed. Get a verticle post or a cone cuz discus breed on verticle objects. feed the discus freezedried bloodworms or other formlatians. cycle the tank with hardy fish first thought and make sure the ph is 6.8 or whatever the fish store recomends. make sure theres no nitrates. If you put them in a group get them from the same tank at the fish store or else they will pick on eachother and thats a pain to deal with.

I am turning my 75g planted into a 125g planted and am toying with the idea of getting discus :)
 
Forgot to mention. Stock up on metro and prazipro.. Discus are prone to get it. My Discus have never gotten it, but designer Discus have pretty poor genetics..
