Looking for some advice on what I need to do in order to give this guy a fighting chance. I ordered a pair of Blue Headed Calotes at the beginning of this week - I was not informed as to when they were shipped, nor had I been informed that it was two day shipping, not overnight. After discovering this the day after they shipped, I made my way out of town to the post office that they had been at versus waiting another day of having them sit. That was yesterday.
No heat packs, and the box was poorly packed, but they were both in there. The female had a bloodied head, but is eating crickets right now, and seems to be doing well.
However, the male looks terrible, not like something that would just occur overnight. His pelvic bones are exposed, and his eyes are sunken in. I managed to get him to drink a small amount of fluids yesterday, but he hasn't moved much today, and can be found just laying motionless under the heat source for the past few hours now.
My question is, what should I do to give him more of a chance? Certain procedure to take or not really? Can this happen overnight?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated - could use some reptile experts for this one

Call the seller right away and tell them you want a replacement on the male.
They sent you a very sick lizard.

It looks like it is severely dehydrated, maybe a good reptile vet could save it with under the skin electrolyte injections, but maybe not, and do you really want to go that route?
Keep trying to get it to drink some water and see if it perks up at all.

No, something like that doesnt happen overnight, it could take many months to get in that condition.

I agree, I would be royally pissed if someone sent me animals in that condition. If the male is willing to drink you can try something with electrolytes in it such as Gatorade.

Pissed not only for sending me an unhealthy animal, but pissed because they put it though that

Thank you three for the reply - I figured there was no way for that to happen overnight. Can't say I'm too pleased, as I threw a good chunk of money at these two as well. He said he would replace the male, however the next order of the species comes in next week. I don't trust the guy hardly at all now, but all I can do is hope I suppose. Doing my best to get fluids in him, last night he seemed a liiittle more active, but not much. Don't see him lasting the weekend.
I'll keep you guys posted as far as what happens with the replacement and the progress of the male.

Make sure to ask the seller to send you a "CURRENT" photo of the animal for sale.

You betcha I did, been through too many fish and reptiles shipments not too, lol. The pictures he sent were of two very healthy Calotes, however the coloration on the female and male were off compared to what arrived, and the male seemed younger in the picture as well.
Just came down to check on everything, and found the male tucked away by a log, dead. So, not sure what to do at this point - if he decides not to send another male, then I kind of just spent a lot of money on a female with no color and without male..
Oh boy.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. :( It sucks that you had to go through something like this but it does happen unfortunately. I would email the seller a photo of the dead calote ASAP. It wouldn't be a bad idea to do a google search of any photos that the seller sends you to make sure they weren't just copied from the web somewhere. Cell phone pics aren't too much to ask for these days! Don't give up, these guys are for sale online from time to time. I'll keep an eye out for you.

If you haven't already disposed of it, refrigerate the body just in case the seller insists on a necropsy. Wouldn't be the first seller to send out a sick animal, insist it was perfectly healthy, and claim that you're trying to scam them out of a second lizard.
