  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Depends on the pump and piping sizes, but that would be the easiest way.

...and that's gotta be a nightmare tuning individual tanks for flow if you only used one return pump.
Now a common wet/dry and sump with individual pumps to return to ea tank, might be do able

You can a decent price on a pump that will push those. I use a CoraLife SL-65. I pushes way more than 8 sponge filters without a problem.

not really, if the valves are reachable. would work great for feeding or if you have fry. as you could turn that tank down or off.

yeah as soon as you turn down one valve, more flow goes to the other tanks...see how tuning would be a pain in the ***

i dont think it would be that bad, but i dont run this setup. but that is how i would try it. i think open the top on then the bottom then work in the middle. would also be nice if you had riverine fish and still waterfish.

How loud is that $75.00 air pump, anyway?

It is not that loud, but I won't say that it is quiet either. At least I got it for $50 brand new. (It pays to know people ;)) The loudest part of the pump is the water pumping through the sponge filters. I have 10 filters running off of this pump and the water still bubbles like there is only one line on the whole thing.

When you are dealing with big air pumps, I just make sure that I evenly distribute the air among the tanks and let them pump away. Te help limit things, you could use the PVC idea and put some of the valves in the PVC and adjust the control on the tanks. Shouldn't be too difficult.

lol just saw this. Same pump I use, and its not that loud. The bubbles popping as they come out of the top of the sponge filterre louder.
