Help with Fish ID

I live in Bangkok and my LFS guy is not very strong in English.. In any case he did not or could not tell me the name of this fish.

I believe they are one and the same as the Torpedo barbs (Puntius denisonii) I think I read that.

These are really pretty fish the colors just jump at you I just got 4 of these guys and am going back for 2 more they are about 3 inches and young!. At the shop they have some 6 inch or so.. man they were AMAZING!!

I loved their look so much I just got them before knowing anything about them.. I was planning to keep a school of 6 with 4 Flag Tails together with an Arowana ... I may have to re think that as far as compatibility w/ the Arrow. It is ok I have another tank or 3 they would go well in.. but we will see.

Very very nice fish. I had a group of 6. They are commonly called Denison barbs, redline torpedo barbs, roseline sharks, etc. Latin name is Puntius denisonii as noted.

I would not call them peaceful. They can be nippy. Keeping them in groups minimizes this to other fish.

I now have a school of 6! Picked up 2 more to go with the 4 previously purchased.

So far they seem pretty well behaved.

In my 6 ft 280g I now have (as of yesterdays shopping spree)
6 ea 4~5 inch Flag Tails (Semaprochilodus taeniurus)

6 ea of these Denison barbs (Puntius denisonii)
2 ea White Angels ~ 3in Dia. 2 ea "Blue" Angels ~ 3 in Dia
1 ea 5 inch BKG
1ea 5 in RTC
1 ea unidentified Cat/ Sucker.. I have not caught the bugger on camera yet!!

Some guppies just keeping time, some Zebra Danios a Red tail Shark and Cichlid these guys are "Just visiting" and will be returning to the pond (1,000 g) once i can catch them!!

I am planning an Arrow Real Soon... and if/ when may have to re-locate the Denison Barbs.. but I hope not.. I plan on a juvinial Arrow and am waiting for all these other guys to grow up a bit... well trying to wait...
