This fish was fine yesterday went to feed the tank today and this what I saw. What is it and what do I do?

Looks like a tape worm maybe of some sort? Not familiar on meds for fish yet, someone with more experience chime in?

Hard to make out in the pic. Does look like a nematode or parasite of sort.

I appreciate the responses. It seems to make sense to quarantine and try to treat this poor guy. I will try Api General Cure since I have some on hand. unless some one else has a better idea or advice as I am open to it.

I would treat the whole tank that it is in. The other fish may have the internal parasite (if that's what it is).

looking at past posts for parasites looks like people use General cure yeah.

It would be hard to treat the whole tank as this is a 180 with 40 gallon sump.

soak the food in water with it and feed it to the inhabitants? make enough for a few days? Think you can do that?
