No the oil was just changed. It has 42 service history reports. It's oil has been changed every 3k miles since new.
Wow! Still it pays. . . . I’ve got a printer that can turn you out some very fine service reports.
If the new oil already smells heavily of smog, it means this engine’s getting some blow-by. This was typical of every older car. Not nearly as bad these days.
If oil has not been changed much, it will always smell heavily of smog, Even if just recently changed.
Stanky oil could just mean that after he changed the oil he did a bunch of cold starts & short demonstration rides for people trying to buy the car, and it’s those damn cold starts and short drives that put stanky schmoo in your oil. And the wear on your engine.***
BTW some guys actually taste the oil but I just have to smell it. They’re looking for evidence of other things. Coolant, rubber . . . I don’t know . . . Old racers and junkyard dogs.
This cold starting such a problem with extreme environments, that frozen engines had to be pre heated. Unfortunately they also used to burn up when the engine heaters were mis-handled or damaged. In the end, they just decided to leave them running all winter, if they couldn’t bring them indoors.
