could he have maybe rammed into the glass and injured himself

I highly doubt it. His scales and body are in perfect shape. I tell you what, I'd rather that than a parasite:D

Since he might have a parasite, what med should I use??

I wouldn't use any sort of parasite med until you know that it's a parasite. Stringy-white poo is really the best way to know for sure. You can try maybe melafix or pimafix because they are a good general medicine, but they might just make everything worse.

Maybe you can up the water changes for 2 weeks and see if that makes any improvement.

I don't really know of anything that makes a fish swim weird, but shows no physical scratches or problems. Possibly an air bladder issue?

I had the same problem with a gorgeous male GT, it was swim bladder, and I ended up Euthonising him. I used to use some salt in my tanks and added a little every water change, I believe that is what did him in....

wow, that sucks.

Hopefully this isn't the case with your daughters gt.
If it looks/gets bloated, then it's definitely a swim/air bladder problem.

one of my angel fish passed to the same problem...

Good luck.

So if it is a bladder prob, how do I help him??
Is it something that he has to get over naturaly?

Any word on how fish get bladder probls??

I actually do not know what can help you fix the air bladder problem. You should start a new thread in a different section to get some disease experts on this one. (try medicine)

My angelfish got it from an ammonia spike caused by a small amount of bleach left over on a plant. NEVER USE BLEACH to disinfect plants even though some people say it will be okay.

WOW, I never knew people dis-infect plants??? I juat rinse them off in water and throw them in????

Thanks for your help bro:D

I disinfect plants to kill snails or other nasty animals or parasites on them. Usually they have something on them.
Now I use a diluted version of potassium permanganate.

Keep us posted! :)
