Four years ago this summer we bought some feeder goldfish for our kids. We have 8 of them in a 55 gallon tank and most of them are at least 4 inches long. We have this tank in our basement with no heater and most of the time the light is on. The problem is I have a couple of smaller tanks upstairs that I have somehow killed the fish in.
My husband went downstairs last night and asked me what he #### I did to the fish down there. I haven't touched the fish down there so it must be something else.
The fish were all laying on the bottom of the tank and instead of being nice bright orange like normal, they have what looks to be broken blood vessels in their bodies and tails. I would like help on figuring out what is going on with them.
We hurried up and changed about 50% of the water and when I went down this morning to check on them they were all laying in the bottom of the tank again.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
