help with GT health

no the gt has not eaten peas yet. I have not had a chance to make some but he does eat pellets.I was going to do that later.

The Texas is chasing the Salvini but the Salvini is ok no torn fins and can stay away from him I am going to by a tank divider divider to stop that though
Texas does not bother the chaser fish I put in tank nor does he bother the Rainbow cichlid.

I did not think the Texas would be this aggresive when I bought him and I did not think he would grow so fast.

The Texas is a nice fish but I like the Salvini more and I want to keep them both.

What a better substrate for a tank sand or gravel what is so hard about sand and why do most people use gravel?

i originally went from sand to fine gravel because of the look and my filters were sucking up sand swirled around by the pleco i had at the time but im going back to sand in my new 5x2x2 because this time i have the money to pay for koralia powereheads to suspend the crap in the water column to get sucked down to the sump.

try and lay off the pellets for a couple of days. have you noticed the GT poo yet?

no I have not see the poo yet but It used to be white and long and hang on for awihle.
I once read on here that GT have a problem with internal parisites thats why I was asking about that white spot on the but. I was going to treat with medicated food for parisites any recomendations? along with the melafix?

He starts to eat the alge wafers i put in the tank but spits them out right away

the white stringy poo would indicate parasites. i have had no success in treating internal parasites but i have heard good things on various forums about jungle parasite clear (which at the time i didnt know i could get here).

i dont know if its a common problem among GT's. never heard it mentioned here in the uk but when i see it mentioned on MFK its always the US members that bring it up so it might be common in the states.

the wafers will be strange to it because its only used to pellets. give it time.
