help with hujetas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yea if they are too small they could get eaten by the bichirs and things thats swim kinda twichy seem to attract bichir but if the tank is big and u got some floating plants i think u should be fine but watch out if the bichirs start to stalk the gars in the floating plants as i noticed my delhezi doing that to my giant danios which eventualy dissappered but the danios where around 4"-5" and the del is around 12"-14"....... if u get the right sized fish u will be fine.......

ther around 5 inches an ther like $9.99 the same price as a poly sen.

i was goin to use a 10 gallon to grow him out before i stick him in with the bichirs

Adding those False Gars with the Polys will be dicey...That said your stock will need a miniumum of 36X18X20 floor space as I've said before it is best to have a 75gal so they can turn around

my big bichir is a little over 8 1/2 inches an he turns around great in the 20 now

is the tank that you are planning on adding the gar to the 20?

hujetas need at least a 55 but i would say 75+ is better

hujetas grow really slow, not too sure about poly growth rate, but i'm guessing polys growth rates are faster than hujetas

my hujeta is in a 125 and eats freeze dried krill right when it hits the water (he thinks the krill is alive, and if the krill is floating at the top, he won't eat it, so the trick for me is to throw it right in front of him)
