the one on top doesnt look as close to the ones of bassmans but the one underneath is more similar.

Dude! ;) Take a look at the one on top again ;) Take a GOOD LONG look ;) There is very little difference.. Thething you need to remember is you bought yours./.... At a different place than he did... If I show you a pic of my monos vx. Steve 89's.. The only reason YOU will be able to tell they are Monos is doe to the markings...

You know why? Because his Cichla Monoculus features are more drastic than mine... And if you compare Spizz' new pic ups fromt he trust.. Well Then you have COMPLETELY all together Different Fish.. BUT!! They are MONOS too ;)

Check em out for your self.. You will see that exact look alikes are not a good way to base judgement on species.

You must also know... I am not always right :D But I like everyone else have opinions :D 6 months will tell a different story with these guys ;)

i learned on peacock bass that their dorsal fins are like their fingerprints, everyone is different. i have some c. ocellaris all from the same spawn that their dorsal fins, except when they are exibiting war paint, are all different. the one i call Mo is short for Mohawk because his dorsal fin is dark even when the rest of him isn't. and Horse's dorsal fin is very light, you can almost see through it except for a couple white spots and a couple dark spots and when he puts on his warpaint his dorsal fin doesn't get black like everybody else's do.

i had to look closely (which is tough, i had to go find my glasses), but i'm pretty sure it's a Mono.. cute little dude too.

He the toughest one considering he's the smallest. He claimed the heater for himself and if anyone comes near he makes like a torpedo and charges them just getting close enough to make a point. It's pretty funny.
