Head is angular so we should be able to rule out australis. He's got nice greens.

Underneath. Close as possible. Like this so the pores and folds can be seen.

Thats them green eyed bastids that Wes had..... Some kind of Mala is what most concluded I thought?

Mine were cannibals. Only fish I've ever had that did this. I failed with them. Big time. Had like 6 then one and lost the one....

Would call it Australis. It has that almost brown coloration on the photo. Can You count/see the pores on there headbanger_jib ? Can't see any on the photos even when enlarged.

By the way you are brace jib. Your finger is over the mouth like that.

Agree despite the head not being rounded like normal, the jaw fold says australis, if you can get a clearer picture of it like that so we can count pores, and a clear side shot even, to count LL in case of overlap, we can give a definitive ID

The fish breathes atmospheric air, so try to take more time if needed and get a good picture the next time so you don't have to take it out again and stress it more
