I think you right, its definitely not a dat at all, and I think its not a nandid either, OH no, what is this fish:screwy: anyone???
 
a goliath what ? def not a true tiger fish from africa but i thought looks like a juvi nandus nandus or similar,but that's from memory so might not be lol
 
lol, my bad, I hv no idea what that fish is, but its now in the tank with my bichirs, still hoping for answers, there maybe weird local name, but still no clue,
anyway I like the pattern of the fish, so I bought it
 
i've just had a read on the nandid genus as a whole on your behalf lol,it says best fed live foods but i don't see a reason why it can't be weaned onto defrosted fish eventually,basically keep as you would a dat but can be pretty aggressive by all accounts,they can grow to around the 8" mark so should be fine with your bichirs i think,keep us posted on how he's doing cheers Paul
 
thanks alot, lol, I'll put up a better picture next time, hope more will recognize it. I though this fish is a bit lazy, couse all it does just sitting and laying on the bottom of my tank, I though it was death or playing death, but when I touch it, it moves normally, I'll keep it update, :headbang2
