Looks more like mine did when it was small(see avatar). Was told it was some type of geo. It grew into a Nica(Hypsophorus Nicaraguense). Was it more of a dull brown when smaller?

A species that is closely related to brasiliensis but it does not get as big as the brasiliensis. I have seen them available from time to time in the LFS.

What size are they. They look to be around 3.5-4". I have never seen any Braziliensis color up that much at such a small size, unless they were being feed a hormone or some type of color enhancer at the LFS for selling purposes. Here are some pics of my Brasiliensis at 3.5-4". Either way great pickup. :headbang2

The fish are probably between 3 and 4 inches and look similar to your fish.
